Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a model developed by Richard Schwartz that understands the mind as made of different parts. Some parts protect you. Some carry old pain. Some have been running the show since childhood without you realising.
At the centre of all of it is what IFS calls the Self. Calm, curious, compassionate. It was always there. The work is about helping your parts trust it enough step back.
A part of you wants to change. Another part will not let you.
You react in ways that surprise even yourself.
You are harsh on yourself in ways you would never be with others.

Old wounds keep showing up in current relationships.
You know what the pattern is. You cannot seem to stop it.
HOW WE WORK WITH THIS
IFS at the centre. Other modalities where the work calls for it.
IFS is the primary framework. We get to know your parts, understand what they are protecting, and help them find new ways of being. The work is slow, respectful, and often surprising.
Where the body is holding what words cannot reach, I bring in Brainspotting.
Where patterns are showing up in relationship, RLT. Where values and meaning need anchoring, ACT. The approach is integrative because people are.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Getting to know your parts. The protectors, the exiles, the managers. Understanding what they need and helping them trust your Self to lead.
Brainspotting
When a part is held in the body and talking about it is not enough. We work at the level where it is actually stored.
Relational Life Therapy (RLT)
When your parts are most activated in relationship. We look at what is happening between you and the people closest to you.
ACT
When parts have disconnected you from what matters. We reconnect with values and help you move toward them, even with difficult parts present.

WHAT A SESSION FEELS LIKE
IFS is experiential. The best way to understand it is to try it.
IFS is not about analyzing yourself from the outside. It is about going inside and making contact with your parts directly. Most clients describe it as unlike anything they have experienced in therapy before.

We begin by creating space and settling. IFS works with the nervous system, not against it. Nothing is forced or rushed.

You are invited to notice what is present inside. A feeling, a tension, a thought. We approach it with curiosity rather than trying to fix it or push it away.

We get to know the part that is there. Where it lives in your body. What it is carrying. What it needs. This is where the real shifts happen.
